One day in Vancouver – how to see the city!
When booking flights to travel to and from Canada, many people leave an extra day or two at the beginning or end of their trip. (Whether that’s for rest, flexibility, or saving on travel costs.) There are many things to do and see in the Vancouver area on that extra day or two – but if you only have one day, we ALWAYS recommend the same thing:
A bike tour.
Vancouver is an incredibly bike-friendly city, and our beaches are all public land – Canada wants everyone to be able to enjoy the shoreline, not only those that can afford to purchase the prime real estate next to the sparkling Howe Sound. And no worries – they’ve got trailers for little ones! (And the tour is 90% flat.)
The tour will take you along the seawall, and into Stanley Park (a public recreation area larger than Central Park in NYC). You’ll pedal along False Creek, and take a small, 5 minute ferry to cross to Granville Island – a market boasting delicious foods, local produce, and products by local artisans. Through Chinatown and up through old town Vancouver (including stopping at the steamclock, if you wish).
To book the tour, simply visit Cycle Vancouver to book your time! And trust us – it really is worth it. We do this bike tour with anyone and everyone who comes to visit – it is the absolute BEST way to see the city!
One of the easiest and most convenient RV park options in the area is Capilano River RV Park – the bus stop is very close, so you can leave your home on wheels, and explore the city!
HINT: For RV friendly parking near the downtown pickup area, try the lot below! (We would not recommend touring the city by RV – the roads are very narrow, and it would be more stressful than rewarding!
